We are Sarah (Lockhart) + Tim (Ryon)
A husband and wife run company specializing in wedding and lifestyle photography since 2011. We met at a photo production studio in 2008,
moved in together less than 6 months later (much to our parents chagrin- sorry, guys!) and never, ever looked back.
Family has always come first to us, whether immediate or chosen and this became even truer with the birth of our son Kai in 2019!!
Running a small business with a tiny human along for the ride has brought us closer as a couple, and in turn, stronger as a family company.
Sarah is our lead photographer, and Tim runs the crucial behind-the-scenes work that ensures everyone has the seamless experience our clients have come to
know and love over the years! We have a small team of talented associates that work closely with Sarah whom we are eternally grateful for.
While we are currently based in Brooklyn, we spend a good portion of our lives on an airplane flying back and forth between NYC and CA.
Getting married in LA?! Not a problem- we work as locals there! And since this incredible job has taken us (kind of literally) all over the world,
we now make a point to donate a portion of each booking to One Tree Planted.
We have a psycho red-headed mutt with the biggest underbite you’ve ever seen and we are obsessed with him. Sarah has
never met a taco (or margarita) she hasn’t loved and Tim makes the yummiest chocolate chip cookies known to man.
We firmly believe love is love, Black Lives Matter, climate change is real, and kindness + empathy can move mountains.
We approach your day with a sense of photojournalism and an eye for the artful details and thoughtful touches that are meaningful to
you as a couple. With this being said, it is the raw emotions and in-between moments that we live for.
Your complete gallery will be a blend of authentic candid moments, artistic imagery, and delicate details.
And our careful attention to post-production ensures a timeless feel (no trendy filters added to our work)!
On your wedding day, we are a calm, reassuring presence for you. Since each wedding/session is so different, we are experts at reading the room, the mood,
and the emotions, so that each photo is a beautiful reflection of your love, relationship and community. As a self-described introvert and deeply
empathetic about what it means to be camera-shy, Sarah knows *exactly* what to do and say to get you feeling and looking your best.

'Sarah and Tim are simply AMAZING! After booking the venue, they were the very first vendor we booked and
it was the easiest decision we made. From our initial ‘meeting’ with Sarah on Skype to finally seeing all of our gorgeous photos,
it was such a flawless and enjoyable experience. My husband and I wanted to make sure the photographer we
chose was someone who could capture our day as organically as possible and Sarah and her associate did just that. Actually they did more than that—
they somehow captured every special moment (both big and small) all while making us look like professional models.
Leading up to the wedding, Sarah was responsive and true to her deadlines, and her genuine kindness, compassion,
understanding and laid back vibe instantly put us at ease during the stressful planning months.
On the day of the wedding they were incredibly fun to be around and made us feel very comfortable— at times we would not even realize they were there!
They were such a power team, working together seamlessly to ensure we got all the shots we wanted and then some. Their laid back, fun vibe was a pleasure
to be around all day and they somehow managed to wrangle our giant (sometimes rowdy) wedding party together to get some truly incredible photos.
I personally loved how Sarah was open to taking more out-of-the-box photos— which turned out to be some of my favorites. She
also captured the little quiet moments throughout the day that were so special to us and something we will keep close to our hearts forever.
Overall, I could not have imagined a better team to be with on our wedding day. These guys are really more than photographers.
We felt we were in safe hands throughout the entire process and when we finally met, it was like having two friends there with you.

AMazing! After we make sure we’re a good fit for one another, I’ll send over a short questionnaire with the info I will need to get your contract together. Once I have your contract signed and 50% deposit received, the date is yours!
can you hold a date for us?
To be fair to everyone, I can only secure a date with a signed contract and deposit. However, I will provide a soft hold for dates on a first come first serve basis. If you have expressed interest in working together, I will definitely let you know if someone else has inquired about the same date!
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes! If your venue requires it, please give us two weeks notice.
Do you deliver every image that you shoot?
Nope. We shoot digital and can end up with thousands of images at the end of a day! We’ll cull them down to the strongest photos (ie- you won’t see mid bite, eyes closed, quadruple chin shots).
How many images will we receive?
This obviously varies as each day is unique (time we’re with you, details, size of wedding/family, priorities, etc) but you can expect around 1000ish for weddings and 200ish for engagement/family sessions. My goal is to tell the story of your day, not land on a specific number of images…
What is the turnaround time for our full gallery and how are they delivered?
For engagement sessions we ask for up to 6 weeks. For weddings, we ask for up to 12-14 weeks. A delivery date will be in your contract, however I always do what I can to have your galleries completed before then! Keep in mind, these images are precious and not something to be rushed ;) Once completed, your full collection will be delivered on a password protected and downloadable online gallery that you are welcome to share with family/friends/guests!
How many weddings do you shoot a year?
Between 20-30. I want to make sure I am able to be present throughout the process with you, so never book more than I can handle!
Do you photograph destination weddings?
Yes! Travel is a passion of mine and my passport is always up to date and ready to roll.
Will we have a second photographer?
If your wedding is over 50 people, then yes! I am able to document smaller celebrations on my own, but will always have an associate with me otherwise. This allows us to (literally) be in two places at once throughout your day!
Do you provide videography services?
We currently only provide still photography services, but are more than happy to recommend a handful of videographers we love working with!
Do you shoot engagement sessions?
Yes! An engagement session is actually complimentary for our wedding clients (but you are by no means required to have one!)
Do you retouch all of our wedding photos?
All images you receive will be given some love. After being culled and lightly adjusted in one program, I actually open each image in photoshop and do minor retouching (think blemish removal, not compositing heads on different bodies). All images shown on our website, blog, social media are exactly as they were delivered to our couples. My goal is for your gallery to be complete. You should be able to print any image from your collection and hang it on your wall!
Will you recommend other vendors?
YES! I have been so very lucky to work with some of the best vendors in this industry and am always happy to pass their info along. Just ask!!
Can we receive the raw images?
Nope. These are actually unfinished images that most people wouldn’t even be able to access without the proper computer program! More importantly, we are hired for a specific look and the raw files would not represent that!
Can we request additional work be done on a photo? Can you turn b/w images to color and vice versa?
Yes, but only to a point ;) Please keep in mind, I am very intentional with the way I edit your photos and if an image is in color or bw, I felt it was stronger that way! With that being said, I totally understand if you’re just aching to see a favorite image switched over… a few photos are fine, but anything beyond that we’d need to discuss. It isn’t just a click of a button (like it is on our phones!). It does take time to adjust each image. As far as additional retouching is concerned, most people don’t request this! We do our very best to make sure each photo delivered is complete. However, if you are hoping for something more to be done, let me know and I can price it out for you.
Can we see some full galleries?
Absolutely. In fact, I encourage this! Always ask to see full galleries when possible. It’s easy for anyone to put a few lovely images on social media, but you want to make sure a full day can be captured beautifully from start to finish!
Did you study photography?
Yes! I received my BFA in photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I am an art/photo nerd through and through.
How long have you been shooting?
I’ve had a camera in hand since 2002! I have been shooting weddings since 2005 (as an associate) and we started this company in 2011… so a long time ;)
Do you only photograph weddings?
Not at all! I thrive off of human connection, light, texture, color, and finding beauty in the mundane. Photography is an absolute passion of mine. Along with celebrations of love, I photograph families, littles, travel work, interiors, portraits, and food.
Should we give you a ‘shot list’?
No (and alSo yes) ;) If you decide to move forward with us, there is quite a bit of communication leading up to your wedding and part of that is a questionnaire I send over along with a sample ‘formal shot list’- this really is just a (very) short and sweet list of groupings you want to make sure we capture throughout the day. Otherwise, no shot list is needed! We have been doing this for a long time and know how to anticipate moments and will definitely communicate with you beforehand so we’re aware of your priorities!
Do you charge a travel fee for weddings outside of NYC or LA?
Depending on where your wedding is taking place, we will ask for airfare or a gas/mileage fee, hotel stay, and per diem. There is no ‘fee’ beyond that! We love to travel so try to make it as easy as possible on your end ;)
Do you provide albums/prints?
Yes! You are welcome to order prints directly from your online gallery! If you are interested in getting an album made, let me know and I’ll send over pricing info!
